Sam Querrey hits with the public.
Sam Querrey was born in San Francisco and currently resides in Thousand Oaks, California. As a junior, Sam played with several current Cal Poly male and female tennis players, and is close friends with Cal Poly football player, Jon Hall. “Sam is by far the most promising young, up-and-coming male or female tennis player in the United States,” said Cal Poly Women’s Tennis Head Coach Hugh Bream.

Currently 21 years old, Sam won his first career ATP title at the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas this year by taking out South African qualifier Kevin Anderson 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the final. He was also a member of the United States Davis Cup team this year, and reached the fourth round at the 2008 US Open.
